July 7 2012 is the date when the Olympic torch passes through Bury St Edmunds.

The list of more than 1,000 places that the torch will visit next summer has been revealed and it's spending around a week in East Anglia as part of a 10-week UK tour.

Day 50 is the big day for the Bury St Edmunds, the torch will come from Saffron Walden, passing through Haverhill before coming to Bury. The exact route it takes through the town is not yet known although it is likely it will past Angel Hill.

It will leave Bury and head towards Newmarket. Anyone hoping to carry the torch will have to wait until January to find out if they've been chosen.

Are you pleased the Olympic torch is coming to Bury St Edmunds? Are you interested or not really bothered?
