When parking ticket machines were controversially installed in Nowton Park at the start of last month, St Edmundsbury Borough Council also decided to mark the area around the park to deter parkers.
But the bright yellow lines have been criticised by residents and park users who say they are not in keeping with the natural beauty of the area.
Park user Matt Newman, 43, said he was pleased to hear about the removal of the lines.
He said: "The parking charges are bad news, but you can see why they decided to put the machines in. But the lines outside the park are just awful. I've never seen them so bright and when you drive along the road all you can see is the lines - they are mesmerizing and really off putting."
St Edmundsbury Council has made a proposal that the road is made a clearway which means parking won't be allowed but those yellow lines won't be required.
Cllr Guy McGregor, Suffolk County Council portfolio holder for Transport told the Bury Free Press: "The yellow lines were painted on a temporary basis using emergency powers.
"We are aware of local feeling about the colouring and lack of notice, but we needed to put safety first.
"We have already started the process for making the road a clearway and will consult on this shortly .
"At the same time we are investigating reducing the speed limit from 60 mph to 40mph."
What do you think about the removal of the lines? Do you think they should have been put there in the first place?

Great news, hopefully the parking meters will be next to go. Anyone know if the massive public outrage at these lines had anything to do with their removal?
