Cult hero footballer Roy Essandoh who famously scored in Wycombe's run to the FA Cup semi-final a decade ago might be signing for Bury Town.

Roy Essandoh is currently training with Bury Town.
The Ram Meadow club have confirmed that Essandoh, now 35, is training with the Suffolk side, indeed he scored against Newmarket in a friendly at the weekend.
Essandoh became a real sensation in March 2001 when depleted Wycombe Wanderers, then managed by Lawrie Sanchez, faced an injury crisis ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final at Leicester.
The Buckinghamshire giant killers posted a note on their website saying they needed a striker. A journalist from Ceefax was alerted to the vacancy and published a story on Wycombe's plight.
Essandoh's agent saw the story and the footballer who was without a club and living in Finland, signed up.
A week later he scored the goal to knock Leicester out of the FA Cup with a famous last minute header and set up a surprise FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

Big shame that Roy's now left Bury Town - but whoa! What a replacement. Billy Clark! Surprised that he's come to Bury. Remember seeing him play for Ipswich a couple of years ago. I know he's only signed to improve his match fitness, but great to have someone like that at the club.
