Freezing February, which saw temperatures plummet to -10C just a week ago, is set to bow out in style this week, with temperatures pushing an astonishing 20C.

The 30C turnaround in temperature is caused by a warm air front being kept between two cold ones and it means we're set for an unseasonably warm February mini heatwave.

Average temperatures for this time of year are around 8C, which is what we've seen over the last week, but that's set to change by midweek.

Wednesday temperatures are expected to be 10C, but by Thursday it will be 15C and chances are we could be at 18C, possibly higher before the month is out.
