Safety work to repair part of the A14 near Bury St Edmunds will start on Monday and continue overnight for two weeks (Monday to Friday).

The work is being carried out on a two-mile section of the westbound carriageway between junction 49 near Stowmaket and junction 47a (Woolpit/Elmswell).

Diversions will be put in place and it is thought it will add an extra 20 miles to drivers' journeys so they are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys and to take additional care.

The westbound only carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am and between 8pm and 10am on the Friday. The work is due to be completed by Saturday, October 22.
