Parts of York Road, York Close, Queen's Road and Chalk Road and parts of Kings Road are the latest in the town to have restricted parking.

Permit parking sign in Bury St Edmunds
From today residents in those roads will have to pay for permits to display in their vehicles as they are the latest to be included in the Zone H area, which means only cars with permits can park there on Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm.
St Edmundsbury Council charge for these permits, saying the money they produce goes on enforcing the parking restrictions, namely paying for traffic officers to patrol the areas.
Do you think it's fair that residents should have to pay for permit parking. Wouldn't it be better to make it free for the first year at least?

ReportI think it's a totally unfair, I understand that parking spaces are becoming scarce but atleast ease it in, give the residents atleast a year free.
