Councillor Paul Farmer told the Bury Free Press this week that the speed limit in Southgate Street should be dropped from 30mph to 20mph.
This came after an accident which in occured in the street, one of a long line of incidents over the last few years.
The council have so far shrugged off suggestions that a cut in the speed limit would be the most suitable course of action.

Are the council right? Would a 10mph drop make that much difference or is it simply a problem of poor driving judgement?
