IN THESE difficult financial times finding affordable housing is often very tough. Luckily for those living in Suffolk there are building projects under way that could help give you the much needed step onto the housing ladder in Bury St Edmunds.

As you will see in our Howard Estate Redevelopment group the building on the old Merry Go Round site is on track for completion in March 2011 and will provide eight new homes. St Edmundsbury Borough Council have also  recently announced that this month work will begin on 35 flats in Mildenhall Road. These developments are  fantastic news for this area of Bury St Edmunds and obviously great for jobs in the construction sector as well.

The Government is currently discussing possible changes to the way affordable social housing is provided in the future. The Homes and Communities Agency has some very useful information available to everyone on their website. Let Burystedmundspeople know what you make of it.
